Pastor Jerry Kendrick
HBTC Administrator
Pastor Jerry is a former journalist-broadcaster and Media Training School instructor. He and his wife Bev have 5 children and 5 grandchildren. After receiving Jesus Christ as his Savior and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, he acknowledged the call of God on his life in 1978. He graduated from the Canadian Pentecostal Correspondence College and the International Bible Correspondence Institute and the Billy Graham School of Evangelism. He also graduated from the three-year Kenneth Hagin Rhema Bible Correspondence School in Texas. Pastor Jerry was a pastor and Bible teacher for over twenty-two years and also served as Christian Education pastor at Rock Church. In 1986, he helped develop the ASK Bible Training Center and became Academic Dean and served in that position for eighteen years. He was the past president of the Association of Church Centered Bible Schools of Canada. He served on the Board of Directors for the Church Centered Bible School Association in Buffalo, New York, and also as past president of the Canadian Branch of the Association of Christ -Centered Bible Schools. Pastor Jerry has spoken at churches and conferences across Canada, including the Ashram meetings in Nova Scotia. Answering the sovereign call of God in January 2000, he became Senior Pastor of City Church – and served for 20 years training up leaders for the work of the ministry. Pastor Jerry is currently on the Pastoral staff as Senior Pastor of Hope Centre Family Church and serves in the role of the President of the HBTC Bible Training Centre. Pastor Jerry is also an ordained minister with the Canadian Pentecostal Holiness Church and is the Superintendent of the Maritime Conference of the PHCC.

Pastor Bev Kendrick

Bev graduated from the Nova Scotia Teacher's College in 1961 and taught in the public schools in Dartmouth and Halifax. She and Pastor Jerry were married in 1961 and raised five children and are proud grandparents of five grandchildren. In 1978, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She graduated from ASK Bible School in 1993 with a Major in Bible/Spirit-Filled Living and has grown as a student with a love for God's Word. Her years of experience as a teacher have given her a knowledge of the keys to effective study and teaching. Bev is currently in her 48th year of walking with Jesus and among her accomplishments: Bev was secretary of ASK Bible Training Center at Rock Church for fifteen years, and secretary of City Church, Halifax for twenty years, and taught in their CCBI bible school for a number of years. She is currently secretary at Hope Centre Family Church, and secretary and teacher of the HBTC bible school. She is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada. Bev is known as a passionate person about studying the Word of God and as a minister of the Gospel desires to see everyone know Jesus and make Him known. Bev is quick to aid anyone who expresses to know more about the Kingdom of God and this so great a salvation that comes to us by the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor John Keating
HBTC Academic Dean
John loves the Lord. He is recognized as a licensed Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness church of Canada and is currently serving as a member of the Pastoral team at Hope Centre Family Church. He grew up in a Christian family and has been active in leadership roles in the church from his teenage years. John and his wife Heather are grateful to have a son, daughter, and 7 grandchildren. He worked as a Professional Engineer, teaching for 30 years in Engineering programs at the Community College here in Nova Scotia. During this time, John faithfully pursued a strengthening in his Christian walk by participating in a wide selection of course teaching that led him to a determination to become deeply involved in the church he is now attending. Over the years, John has taken numerous bible courses from Word of Faith, Victory School of Ministry, City Church Bible Institute, and more. Recently, John has given heart attention to continue his studies with several courses that have their origin in the Buffalo School of the Bible, which led him to join the pastoral staff of Hope Centre Family Church in New Minas. John now holds a Ministerial License with the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada. John is instrumental in helping to develop a vision that will see the New Minas church grow. He believes now, more than ever, the Word of God is the most important book that we can study because we need to study to show ourselves approved, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Pastor John holds a Ministerial License with Canadian Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Heather Keating

Heather was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and grew up on the south Shore. She graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College in 1976. Her father, as a Pastor, instilled a faithful growth in his daughter and she attained a Christian Worker’s License with the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada in 2013. Later in life, she took Bible courses at Victory School of Ministry at Christianview Church. In 2003, she attended CCBI at City Church in Halifax graduating in 2005 with a diploma in Major in Bible, plus other OMEGA courses, such as Christ and the Cross, and Pastoral Care and Counseling. Heather was blessed to have grandparents who loved the Lord and pastored their whole life. Her parents also loved God and later in life were called into fulltime ministry and pastored out west for 10 years. Now, she finds herself called into service for the Lord, whom she loves with all her heart and soul, and rejoices in the blessing of having had a Christian family that kept her close to God and escaped a lot of things that could have had her life go down a different path. Heather and John, the love of her life, met at a church camp, and were married in 1975. God is good. Heather holds a Ministerial License with the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada and is serving at Hope Centre Family Church as part of the Pastoral team. Heather’s hope is focused on building a Kids Church Ministry that will bring in families, raise up children and see teenagers devote their lives to Jesus. Yes, Heather wants to expose others to the life of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus and walk in an anointing that truly equips you to enjoy the abundant life.

Chris Cook
Chris Cook is a Holy Spirit filled Believer and Christ Follower, who is dedicated to fulfilling God's calling on his life through obedience and Faith in the Word of God. Chris grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but spent many years living and working in the Electronics manufacturing and Telecom industries in British Columbia, before retiring and returning back home to Nova Scotia. Chris' family heritage is deeply rooted in Church Ministry. His father Bob was a life-long member of Canada's East Coast Navy, who later on became a Pentecostal Minister, and his family roots can be traced back to many generations of Brethren in Christ and Mennonite Ministers, and Ordained Church Leadership. As you read about Chris’ family serving Jesus, you can understand how Chris feels the call to serve and to declare the Good News of the Gospel, and the truth that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,” that whosoever believed in the Lord Jesus would be forgiven and restored into fellowship in the mercy and goodness of our loving God. Chris and his wife Christine are a dedicated team of Born-Again Holy Spirit-filled Believers who are together answering God's calling on their lives by serving in Church ministry at Hope Centre Family Church -- passionately seeking a deeper understanding of God's word, and a deeper and closer relationship with God's Holy Spirit, and as a result, leading others into the Glorious Light and Infinite Love of Jesus Christ.
The Hope Bible Training Centre has a wide access to many Spirit-filled teachers and will be, as time progresses, adding various instructors with specific anointings, such as ministers in expertise in the fields of Divine Healing, Spiritual Warfare, Praise and Worship, Evangelism, and other biblical giftings.
